Colchester, VT: DealerPolicy, an Insurtech company, and Vermont HITEC, a not-for-profit education center, are accepting applications for a no-cost, accelerated Insurance Associate training program leading to guaranteed full-time jobs with DealerPolicy upon successful completion. Up to 20 selected participants will attend an 8-week program starting January 7, 2019 with employment beginning March 4, 2019. All participants completing the program will be offered full-time positions as Client Advisors, enrolled in a Registered Apprenticeship, and earn a starting annualized base salary of $31,000 plus commission. Performance-based wage increases brings base salary up to $35,000 through the first year. Commission is uncapped and provides on average an additional $16,000-$20,000 per year. Combined salary and commission can exceed $50,000 per year. This session is the sixth offered by DealerPolicy and Vermont HITEC since last year, with several 2019 sessions anticipated to support growth.
No prior industry knowledge or experience is required to apply, but candidates are required to have a High School diploma or GED. Client Advisors are valued members of the team at DealerPolicy, communicating with customers through technology to evaluate insurance needs and advise on coverage options. Client Advisors are required to pass the Producer’s Property and Casualty Insurance Exam, and be licensed with the state of Vermont as an Insurance Producer. Preparation and associated exam and licensing fees are included in the 8-week training. A grant of $4,800 per student is available to support living expenses during the 8-week program.
Vermont HITEC has partnered with businesses to employ more than 1,600 individuals in the healthcare, information technology, business services and advanced manufacturing fields. Vermont HITEC's technical and professional training closes the skills gap between motivated workers and the organizations that seek them. The program is funded in part by the US Department of Labor, the Vermont Department of Labor, and the Vermont Department of Economic Development.
